Before you donate

Practical tips from Nearbay: photograph the actual condition, including marks and missing parts. Prepare clean, complete items; measure furniture and describe whether appliances work.

Confirm acceptance and collection or drop-off arrangements before transporting anything. Agree building access and elevator use, and leave time for a fallback. These tips do not replace each organisation’s own conditions.

Worth something? Sell it first with one video

Start with a video and review your catalog before publishing. A sale is not guaranteed. Anything that does not sell can be donated afterwards if the organisation accepts the item and its condition. No fixed fee. You pay 20% of what sells, and nothing if nothing sells. Commission applies to collected individual sales, capped at total individual and dealer-lot proceeds. Lot-only sales: no seller fee. Nothing upfront.
