General information, not legal advice

Your suggested planning timeline

Suggested by Nearbay to help you plan; these are not official notice or processing deadlines.

  1. 60 days before

Read your lease and agree notice and departure with your landlord. Check visa, bank and service cancellation requirements; these are planning suggestions, not legal deadlines.

  2. 30 days before

Ask management for handover, permit, service elevator and truck access instructions. Photograph the condition and separate furniture to keep, sell or donate.

  3. 14 days before

Agree inspection and any repairs with your landlord. Confirm the Ejari and DEWA cancellation process. Arrange furniture collections and a fallback for the remainder.

  4. 7 days before

Confirm permit and elevator approval with management, collections and DEWA disconnection after work that needs electricity or water. Review the catalog if you choose Nearbay.

  5. Handover day

Record photographs, readings and final condition; return keys and cards against acknowledgement. Keep final bills, cancellation confirmations and your deposit agreement.

Agree the exit before cancelling services

Confirm the notice required by your lease and the handover date with your landlord. Cancelling Ejari does not settle an early departure agreement. Keep agreements in writing and schedule services so cleaning, inspection and moving can be completed.
